The Palau de Congressos de Catalunya is a convention center located on the well-known Avenida Diagonal in Barcelona, where the main access is located.
This building was designed by the architects Carlos Ferrater, Josep María Cartañà and Alberto Peñín, and was inaugurated in June 2000 with the participation of King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sofia at the event, among other authorities.
It has a large size of more than 30,000m2 and a capacity of up to 8,000 people. Its facilities are divided into 5 floors and more than 30 spaces, with an auditorium and rooms with a capacity of more than 2,000 people, in addition to a large external parking.
It is characteristic of its main Hall, which has large dimensions and lots of light, where the main registration and accreditation area is located.
In 2006, he was awarded the Best Convention Center of Europe Award at the Meetings Incentive Travel Industry Awards ceremony.
